On 15th, May, the China-Zambia High-quality Development Cooperation Forum was held in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. Under the witness of the President of Zambia and the Chinese ambassador in Zambia, Mr. Jiang Qingbin, vice president of SANY Group and president of SANY Africa, and Zambia’s Minister of Energy inked a Memorandum of Cooperation. The agreement centered on a pioneering venture—a 30MW photovoltaic power and 60MWh energy storage project for Ruida Mining, emblematic of the "mine, photovoltaic power, and electric product" business model.

This groundbreaking initiative represents SANY's first foray into photovoltaic projects beyond China's borders. In recent years, Zambia's traditional hydropower generation has been greatly affected by climate change. As a milestone project for SANY, the project is of great significance for Zambia in dealing with climate change, promoting economic development, and realizing energy diversification.

As the pioneer of the “Future Energy” initiative, SANY has been focusing on the development of clean energy, including wind energy, solar energy, hydrogen energy, and energy storage. In 2023, the first N-type TOPCon was successfully produced in the Zhuzhou industrial base with a power conversion efficiency exceeding 26%. In the same year, SANY inaugurated the Zhuzhou 5GW Photovoltaic Manufacturing Base with an expected annual output value of 3 billion RMB.

In 2024, SANY plans to invest about 8 billion yuan in the photovoltaic whole-industry chain project which includes 10GW silicon wafers, 5GW modules, and panel mounts. As a new force in the industry, in the future, SANY Silicon Energy will focus on the research and industrialization of the whole process technology in the field of silicon wafers, slicing, cells, and modules. We will actively explore the green energy solution in the industry's energy-intensive manufacturing process.
