On March 31, The SANY Science and Technology Festival 2024 was held in Changsha, China, gathering over 11,000 SANY’s R&D engineers both on-site and online. The event served as a vibrant platform for showcasing SANY's latest advancements, featuring a dynamic product exhibition, illuminating technical forums, and a gala awards dinner.
At the opening ceremony, Xiang Wenbo, the Rotating Chairman of SANY Group, took the stage to extend sincere gratitude to the dedicated R&D engineers for their hard work and outstanding contributions.
In the No.5 factory of Changsha Industrial Park, attendees marveled at about 170 latest high-tech products and technologies from all Business Divisions. From intelligent solutions for various sites like mines, ports, and wind sites, to new energy products encompassing wind power, hydrogen energy, photovoltaic energy, and energy storage, SANY proudly showcased its R&D achievements from the past year through physical exhibits, models, images, and videos.
At the same time, in the main forum, SANY invited specialists and professors from renowned academic institutions including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, and Beijing Institute of Technology to discuss the development trend of the industry.
As the highlight of the festival, Yu Hongfu, president of SANY Heavy Industry unveiled 18 annual awards, including “Progress in Science& Technology”, “Excellent Parts Awards”, “Low-carbon Technology Innovation Awards”, “Intelligent Innovation Awards”, and “Digitalization Technology Innovation Awards”. Among these, projects like “SET150S Electric Off-highway Mining Truck”, “71s Pump Truck”, “SY980H Hydraulic Excavator”, and “2,200-ton Crawler Crane” stood out and won the prize of “Progress in Science& Technology”. “STE228 Electric-driven Box”, “New Integrated Hydraulic System of Off-highway Mining Truck”, and “5.2 Megawatt Stator Aluminum Generator” won the “Excellent Parts Awards”.
In 2023, SANY introduced over 750 new products and technologies and newly applied 4,000 patents with the percentage of invention patent applications increasing by 18.6% year-on-year, hitting a record high.
