SANY’s SY3000E Electric Mining Excavators Make Overseas Debut in Indonesia, Marking a New Era for Green Mining

SANY has delivered its first two SY3000E electric mining excavators to overseas markets, following joint efforts by the company’s Asia-Pacific region and Heavy Machinery BU. The handover ceremony took place at a mine site in Indonesia, where the units were officially transferred to a leading local mining operator.

This milestone marks SANY’s official entry into the global electric mining excavator market and underscores strong recognition of SANY’s full mining excavator portfolio.

Built as a flagship electric model for large open-pit mining operations, the SY3000E features a fully electric drive system and intelligent electro-hydraulic controls. It delivers robust power, precise handling and high reliability, while enabling zero emissions, lower noise and reduced operating costs — benefits that align closely with the global mining industry’s shift toward greener, more sustainable operations.

The model has been field-tested and validated across coal mines, quarries and other working scenarios, proving strong adaptability to diverse operating environments.

The SY3000E is engineered specifically to withstand Indonesia’s extreme climate of high temperatures and humidity. He called the delivery a key step in deepening bilateral cooperation and advancing green mining practices together. SANY will provide comprehensive after-sales service, ample spare parts support and professional technical backing to ensure the equipment runs efficiently, he added.

The customer noted that as mining sites relocate and haul distances grow, persistently high fuel costs are pushing operators to innovate in response to mounting challenges. The rollout of the two SY3000E units is a strategic solution that replaces fossil fuel with green energy to drive major efficiency gains.

The company’s operations director added that compared with conventional diesel excavators, the SY3000E offers faster response and more stable power output during digging operations. It also delivers significant cost savings — a benefit already demonstrated by a unit put into trial operation ahead of the official handover.

To close the ceremony, Liang Jing, General Manager of SANY’s direct sales subsidiary in Indonesia, cut a traditional Indonesian tumpeng — a cone-shaped turmeric rice dish symbolizing good fortune — and presented it to the customer’s team. The SANY delegation also presented commemorative gifts and formally handed over the golden key marking the equipment’s commissioning, celebrating the SY3000E units’ official full-scale operation.

To address the diverse needs of mining customers worldwide, SANY has developed a mining excavator product portfolio covering a wide range of operating scenarios. The successful delivery of the two SY3000E units kicks off the global rollout of SANY’s electric mining excavator lineup.
