SANY SRC550 truck crane took part in UAE’s Habshan oil drilling project

In 2012, a unit of SANY SRC550 truck crane took part in UAE’s Habshan oil drilling project. The project’s contractor is National Drilling Company (NDC), which is the largest drilling contractor in the Middle East, providing the clients with drilling, work-over and maintenance services.

The oil field located deep in the desert without road access. SANY SRC550 truck crane is a kind of rough terrain crane, so it could go through the desert thanks to its remarkable travelling ability. Besides the rough road condition, there were also several difficulties that the mobile crane has successfully overcome. The first was the short construction period which required the truck crane to work 24 hours a day without stop. The scorching temperature was another problem, since in summer the desert temperature can reach to 60°C. But the mobile crane’s reliable parts and advanced technology ensured the smooth running. What’s more, the working condition was very rigorous, so the mobile crane was not allowed to appear any device faults. Finally, it successfully finished the work.

The maximum lifting capacity of SRC550 is 55 ton, with the maximum road speed of 25 km/h and boom length of 55ton. Equipped with the advanced control system, the machine realizes stable operation. The CAN-bus instrument with a combined intelligent control electrical system is used for easy reading of the traveling parameters at any time. Engine fault warning function enables convenient and fast maintenance. With full security protection system, main and auxiliary winches are equipped with overroll out limiter and height limiters to prevent over-rolling out and over-hoisting of steel rope, including tip-over and limit angle protection. The adoption of highly intelligent load moment limiter system can comprehensively protect lifting operation, ensuring accurate, stable and comfort operation.
