SANY’s Tower Crane Helps Build Bangladesh’s First Nuclear Power Plant
In recent days, the concreting of the inner containment dome of the No.2 unit of Bangladesh’s Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant was completed, marking the project coming to an end. At this point, 16 of SANY’s SFT380(T7530-16) tower cranes have been working on the construction site for about 1500 days with their excellent performance being highly recognized by the construction side.
“SANY’s tower crane changed my impression of China’s machinery, and we look forward to further cooperation with SANY”, said the Senior Vice President Mr. Khazin who is in charge of the project.
Located on the east bank of the Padma River about 160 kilometers from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant is Bangladesh’s first nuclear power station. Composed of two VVER-1200 reactors with an installed capacity of 1200MW and a total installed capacity of 2.4GW, the plant will become the main force of the country’s power grid after completion.
Headquartered in Russia, JSC ASE, a key foreign trade engineering company for the construction of nuclear power facilities abroad, is the contractor of the project. JSC ASE, attracted by SANY’s high-quality products and reputable after-sales service, purchased 16 units of SANY’s tower cranes for the nuclear power plant project, marking the SANY tower crane’s debut in Russia’s nuclear power supply chain.
SANY has been standing at the forefront of the industry. When most plants of the industry still rely on manpower, SANY launched its building of “lighthouse factory” and “green factory”, reducing the failure rates and its carbon footprint while improving assembly efficiency. After visiting the smart factory of SANY’s tower crane, JSC ASE’s representative speaks highly, “This is an advanced plant, and we believe that the product from such an assembly line must be reliable.” Currently, SANY has sold about 400 units of tower cranes to Turkey, South Korea, Singapore, and other countries, widely recognized by overseas markets.
