On November 7, SANY Marine officially launched the 40-ton pure electric material handler SMHW40E in Zhuhai Industrial Park, marking SANY's formal entry into the purely electric material handler market.

The SMHW40E is powered by a high-capacity 507 kWh battery, featuring boom potential energy recovery and rotary kinetic energy recovery systems. These innovations enable continuous operation for up to seven hours, with comprehensive operational costs reduced to just 20% of comparable fuel-powered equipment—significantly lowering expenses for enterprises.
Higher efficiency, advancer features
Adopting an electronically controlled response system and independent power slewing mechanism, its comprehensive efficiency has increased by 20%. With a tire chassis that supports a maximum driving speed of 20km/h and the ability to handle slopes with a gradient of up to 30%, the SMHW40E delivers strong maneuverability and the capability for rapid transitions across work sites.
To facilitate operation and maintenance, the cab is also upgraded. The new cab features a roof window and a front window that can be opened.
In a 7.5-meter stick paired with a 9.8-meter boom configuration, the SMHW40E achieves a maximum operating radius of 16.5 m, a gripping depth of 4.5 m, and a gripping height of 18 m. These specifications enable superior construction efficiency while ensuring energy savings, environmental sustainability, safety, and reliability.
