Crisis Averted: SANY's Swift Service Response Saves Critical Crane in South Sudan

In March 2024, a 50-ton SANY truck crane operated by China Jiangsu International Economic and Technical Cooperation Group encountered a sudden failure while working in South Sudan. As the sole truck crane in the South Sudan Project Department, the unplanned downtime would impact the whole schedule of the project if not addressed promptly.

 

Given the absence of an on-site service engineer in South Sudan, we immediately contacted the service engineer, Mr. Peyton Peng based in Morocco for support. To solve the problem as soon as possible, Mr. Peyton decided to conduct remote maintenance. With the guidance of Mr. Peyton, the customer systematically troubleshooted breakdowns one by one on the other end of the phone. Firstly, the field-bus instrument and chassis wiring harness, then the conducting ring and onboard controller. After about an hour of checking, the problem was finally detected: a broken communication line between the field-bus instrument and the ECU.

 

Thanks to this swift intervention, the key crane for the project was restored after only an hour of downtime, preventing potential inestimable losses. The prompt response, as well as the patience and professionalism demonstrated by our service staff, left an impression on the customer. In gratitude, the customer even prized Mr. Peyton 1000 yuan for his support, which he humbly declined.

Peyton Peng, a graduate of Hunan SANY Industrial Vocational and Technical College in 2020, went to Morocco after two years of training and practical experience at SANY Crane in China. Over the past two years, Peyton has served over 200 machines for about 25 customers, earning numerous praises and gratitude from customers.
