On the Front Line: Keeping Equipment Running in Harsh Environment

16/03/2026

At remote mining sites, several SANY machines operate under demanding conditions every day. The fleet includes SY2000 excavators, SY4000, and several other mining machines, each working more than 22 hours a day on average. Regular blasting every three days also puts heavy stress on the machines’ undercarriage systems, making reliable equipment and responsive service essential to keeping operations on schedule. For SANY service engineers on site, supporting customers in such environments is simply part of the job.

A Midnight Call and a Three-Hour Repair

At 1:00 a.m., service engineer Zhao Difa from Heavy Machinery BU received an urgent call from the customer. A track pin on an SY2000H had broken, forcing the machine to stop working. The excavator was responsible for clearing the site after blasting, and any prolonged downtime would have affected the mine’s production schedule.

Zhao quickly gathered the necessary tools and spare parts and headed to the site with his team. Once there, they immediately began the repair work—removing the damaged pin, cleaning the pin hole, installing the replacement part, and completing the fastening and adjustment.

Working through the cold night, the team stayed focused on getting the machine back into operation. By 4:00 a.m., the repair was completed and the excavator was running again. From the moment the service call came in to the machine restarting, the entire process took about three hours, allowing the mine to continue its work as planned.

For Zhao, responding to calls like this—no matter the time—is simply part of supporting customers in the field.

Standing By in Extreme Cold

At another project site, SANY service engineer Li Zehu from Pump Truck & Concrete BU has been providing on-site support for the first batch of 15 SANY mining road machines deployed there. The environment is harsh, with conditions ranging from dusty terrain to extreme winter cold, where temperatures can drop close to –50°C.

To ensure the machines continue operating reliably, Li has been stationed at the site for nearly three months. During that time, he has closely monitored equipment performance and responded quickly whenever service was required.

Over the course of his stay, Li handled more than 50 service cases, including hydraulic adjustments, structural maintenance, and equipment checks required for operation in extremely cold conditions. His continuous on-site support helped maintain a high availability rate for all 15 machines and ensured stable operations for the customer.

Service Where It Matters Most

From late-night emergency repairs to long-term on-site support in challenging environments, SANY service engineers work wherever customers need them most.

Their work may not always be visible, but every timely response and every resolved issue helps keep machines running and operations moving forward. It is through this dedication that SANY continues to deliver reliable service support to customers around the world. Where there is SANY equipment, there is dependable SANY service.
