The “Lone Warrior” of Port Sudan: Teklit Gebrecherkos

During the assembly of an HZS60X10 batching plant in Port Sudan, SANY service engineer Teklit Gebrecherkos faced formidable challenges.


Local temperatures remained above 40°C, with no cooling facilities available, leaving only a limited daily working window. Language barriers further complicated the task, as coordination was required between English and locally spoken Arabic. Compounding these difficulties was the absence of skilled technical support on site—from tightening each bolt to commissioning the entire system, every step depended solely on his expertise.

Despite these conditions, Teklit remained fully committed. With professionalism and patience, he bridged communication gaps and leveraged extensive experience to complete the full assembly and commissioning of the plant. His performance earned strong recognition from the customer.


The trust built on-site continued beyond the project. Following completion, the customer invited Teklit to Khartoum to assist with inspections of additional equipment. In the intense heat of Port Sudan, Teklit delivered more than a technical assignment—he earned respect that transcended language and cultural boundaries.


The Rapid Responder in Singapore: Li Qing

On November 3, a 100-ton crawler crane at the Changi Airport Terminal 5 construction project in Singapore was struck by lightning, causing an unexpected shutdown that impacted the progress of thousands of on-site workers.

SANY service engineer Li Qing was dispatched immediately. Upon arrival, he prioritized site safety by coordinating the evacuation of nearby personnel and arranging urgent spare parts delivery. Initial troubleshooting included replacing the display screen and reprogramming the system, but fault alarms persisted.


To ensure a complete resolution, Li Qing made two urgent trips to obtain additional components. The on-site conditions presented further challenges: strict access controls within the airport construction zone, a lack of lifting equipment, and the difficulty of handling long, heavy boom wire ropes during sensor replacement. Through close coordination with on-site teams and the use of auxiliary machinery, Li Qing successfully completed the repair and commissioning work.


After continuous efforts, the crane was fully restored to operation at 3:00 a.m. the following day, ensuring the project remained on schedule. His professionalism, efficiency, and strong sense of responsibility earned high praise from both the customer and the project owner.


The All-Round Engineer in Chile: Joctan Carrasco Guzmán

In Chile, SANY service engineer Joctan Carrasco Guzmán plays a vital role not only in resolving complex technical issues, but also in supporting international customers throughout the full equipment.


Joctan has demonstrated outstanding expertise on high-difficulty projects, including guiding the technical handover of 800-ton class cranes to ensure successful acceptance, and participating in the repair and structural integrity assurance of 130-ton cranes to help customers rapidly restore operations.

His support for international customers has been equally impactful. From May to August this year, Joctan provided end-to-end assistance for Brazilian customers, overseeing the delivery, assembly, and commissioning of three SAC2500E cranes along with their complete accessory packages. In October, he supervised the unloading of an SCL10000 crane at the Port of Antofagasta and worked continuously for seven days to complete assembly and load testing—significantly strengthening customer confidence.


With deep expertise in large-tonnage cranes and a customer-first service mindset, Joctan has earned broad recognition across the Chilean market.
