Excavator Maintenance under Harsh Conditions

2016-06-28

Special care should be taken when using an excavator under harsh conditions. A lack of timely maintenance will cause unnecessary damage to the excavator, leading to an early overhaul and reduced service life.

Operation in Mud, Water, Rain and Snow
1.The excavator must be cleaned and lubricated after operation.
2.Check for any loose parts or damage and repair promptly.

Sea Water Operation
1.After operation, clean all parts that have had contact with sea water.
2.Pay close attention to any evidence of corrosion on electrical parts.
3.Lubricate all parts to protect exposed metal after cleaning.
4.Check for any loose parts or damage and repair promptly.

Field Operation
1.As there is a lot of dust on construction sites, change the excavator’s air filter frequently to ensure normal engine operation.
2.Since dust can affect the radiator, use water to clean it.
3.Clean the starter and generator rectifier.

Mine Operation
1.Pay close attention to the excavator chassis and its four wheels as there are a lot of rocks at mining sites that can cause damage.
2.Excavators can be easily damaged during mining operations, so check for any loose parts or damage and repair promptly.
3.Additional enhanced excavator parts are needed and should be replaced regularly.

Operation During Winter
1.Use high-quality diesel and apply a diesel-engine antifreeze.
2.Excavator cooling water should be used in combination with antifreeze to prevent the water tank from getting frost damage.
3.The battery should be charged and discharged to avoid frozen electrolyte.
