On March 8th 2015, the distributed power photovoltaic (PV) plant at Sany Beijing Nankou Industrial Park began grid connected electricity generation. In the first week of grid connection, Nankou photovoltaic plant provided more than 100,000 kWh of clean electricity. This is 10% more than expected! In the coming five years, Sany plans to invest an additional 30 billion RMB in the distributed solar power generation field, building an intelligent micro grid and a smart energy management platform and datacenter.

Distributed Solar Power Boosts Energy Sector Development
In recent years, distributed solar power has become more popular across the globe. This emerging technology can be engineered seamlessly right into new building roofs or added to existing building roofs.
In the latter half of 2015, Sany officially put photovoltaic power generation on its strategic agenda, forming a solar energy preparatory group. The goal is to gradually replace externally sourced electricity with internally generated, distributed solar power. The first step in this ambitious project is the photovoltaic plant at Nankou Industrial Park.
From the onset, to address problems of high attenuation rate and low quality components, Sany sourced only the best parts and inverters, strictly monitoring construction quality to ensure the highest generating capacity. The experts from the State Grid Corporation of China have provided invaluable assistance and training in the areas of planning and construction.

30,000,000,000 RMB Earmarked for Construction of Additional PV Generation
Grid connection is just the first step of Sany’s distributed solar energy plans. In the future, we will make full use of Sany Group resources to promote and invest in solar energy from the aspect of “point, line, surface”.
Existing Sany industrial parks have about 5 million square meters of building roof area. These roofs will be used to build solar power plants. In addition to Nankou Industrial Park, industrial parks in Zhuhai, Changsha, Lingang have either began construction or are preparing to do so. In the first half of 2016, most of the industrial parks of Sany will realize a clean energy supply.
All the resources that Sany accumulated from the engineering and machinery industry chain, such as suppliers and agents will form a “line”. The “surface” represents the enterprises in the “radiating” area that is connected to the distributed power plants of the Sany industrial parks. Sany predicts that it will complete 200 megawatts of grid connected, distributed photovoltaic power in 2016. These power plants can provide 100,000 urban families with one year clean energy which will eliminate 12 tons of carbon dioxide emissions!
“In the coming five years, we plan to invest 30 billion RMB into the establishment and operation of distributed solar power generation,” said a Sany spokesman. Sany will build a solar energy technology application theme park for the research and application of integrated photovoltaic, photo thermal, energy storage, charging station and DC technology, and build a leading intelligent micro grid and an energy internet cloud platform.
