Machine guardian in the desert - Amar Benyahia
In June 2025, Amar Benyahia, a service engineer from SANY Algeria, embarked on a product inspection tour covering more than 800 km across the desert.
In Hassi, a customer’s crane suffered from downtime, posing both safety risks and potential project delays. Considering long-time desert transportation, Amar first started remote troubleshooting via phone. Upon arrival, he quickly carried out a thorough diagnosis and resolved the issue.
Amar also conducted on-site training for operators and maintenance staff, teaching them daily inspection routines and basic troubleshooting skills to prevent similar failures in the future.
In Borma, where site access was restricted, Amar provided remote nighttime phone support, combined with daytime video guidance, to help the customer replace and commission the machine’s key parts.
The customer praised him highly:
"Amar worked efficiently under the harsh desert conditions and even improved our operation and maintenance skills. He always answers our calls for help—even late at night. With his support, we are much more confident in the stable operation of our equipment!"
Night Rider in the Rain – Chen Zheng
This year marks the fifth year that Chen Zheng has been working in SANY Mexico. In the past five years, Chen participated in the first and fourth sections of the Maya Railway project.
On the night of June 10, 2025, a customer’s wheel loader suddenly broke down and became immobile during construction. Deep in the rainforest, the site was swarming with insects at night. To get the machine back to operation as soon as possible, Chen decided to drive through the night—nearly 200 km—to inspect the machine and minimize downtime losses.
After arriving at the site, Chen immediately contacted technical experts in China for remote diagnostics and fault localization. Within just 12 hours, the issue was resolved.
The machine operator was impressed by the speed and efficiency, asking to take a photo with Chen. They said:
"SANY’s service is truly reassuring—disciplined and reliable, like a soldier."
Practitioners of Customer Empowerment – Haidir Ridayatullah & Rudy Nasution
At a mining site in East Kalimantan, a mining truck suddenly shut down due to moisture damage to its ECM module. Knowing time is productivity, Haidir Ridayatullah rushed to the site. Despite harsh conditions and a limited signal, he troubleshooted step by step, pinpointed the cause, and brought the machine back to operation within 24 hours.
After repairs, he also explains machine systems and maintenance essentials to operators, helping customers reduce failures and extend equipment service life. Many trainees remarked that it was their first time fully understanding how to operate and maintain the machines.
Similarly, service engineer Rudy Nasution believes service is not only about fixing problems but also about empowering customers. He organized specialized training sessions on SKT105 wide-body trucks, systematically teaching machine structures and preventive maintenance methods. Under his guidance, operators and technicians became truly capable of “understanding, maintaining, and preventing.” Equipment performance stabilized, and failure rates dropped significantly.
