Sany’s 25-ton truck crane STC250H was used in the Erdenet Copper-Molybdenum Mine expansion project. Erdenet Copper-Molybdenum Mine is the third-largest mine in Mongolia — a joint venture between Mongolia and Russia in which Mongolia owns 51 percent and Russia, 49 percent.
The expansion was part of the goal to increase the mine’s yearly mining capacity from 26 million tons (2014) to 32 million tons. An increase in revenue of $115 million (240 billion Tugrik) is expected from the expansion, with $35 million (73 billion Tugrik) going to government tax.
Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj was also in attendance at the mine expansion project’s inauguration ceremony held on June 20, 2015.
