Why SANY\'s global supply chain remains strong in the pandemic?
08/06/2020

Due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus, the world had faced an unprecedented challenge on its supply chain. However, SANY successfully turned the crisis into an opportunity and achieved remarkable growth despite adversities. According to the relevant statistics, SANY's sales in April saw a 41% year-on-year growth and its monthly sales hit a record high.

Preparation goes ahead of the crisis

SANY has 3,000 suppliers around the world but the production of more than half of its domestic suppliers had already been completely or partially suspended at the end of January, which put the whole group's production and operation at the risk of disruption of the supply chain. In response to this unexpected crisis, Mr. Liang Wengen, chairman of the SANY Group, made the instruction to cope with the negative influence of COVID-19 with flexibility, keep the original work pace and push forward the down-to-earth accomplishment of all plans made before Chinese Spring Festival.

Since the very beginning, according to the guideline to check whether there is the risk of disruption or  optional substitutes, SANY has launched the third-level risk assessment on global suppliers and conducted specific solutions to the worst-case-scenario prediction that domestic production cannot resume until March and a complete suspension of production in Europe and America.

Take suppliers' concerns as our own

During the pandemic, SANY provided assistance to help its suppliers out of the plight. The bailout includes the sustainable supply of production materials, financial and logistic support, let alone the donation of face masks and other disease-prevention equipment.
"We have a better understanding of the 'community of shared future' after we have been through this pandemic." Mr. Jin, one of SANY's dealers in Hubei, China said.
Thanks to a strong global supply chain, SANY made a remarkable growth regardless of the contagion. According to the statistics, SANY's sales increased by 41% year on year and the monthly sales hit a record high.
Industry insiders believe this unexpected outbreak of coronavirus placed a tough test for SANY. With the joint efforts of suppliers, SANY has won the fight against the COVID-19 and further tighten its relationship with suppliers and strengthen SANY’s competitiveness.
